On the 14th March 1949, nothing much was going on and I was born. My name is Dave James, Dee Dee Jay, or davejamesofswindon, and I have gone on to become, a husband, son, father, brother, friend, HGV driver, graphic designer, counselor, singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, engineer, recording artist, label owner, gigging musician, music listener and enthusiast, runner and lots more: none of which I am particularly good at but I am known for being a bit of a trier. But my main interest is my passion for music. "A Little Something for The Weekend" - Dave James captivates Claudia Winkleman on Radio 2 Dave was a guest on Claudia Winkleman's Friday night-time arts programme on Radio 2 on 27th September and, quite frankly, stole the show. A wide-ranging conversation about Dave's life in music culminated in the first radio airing of Dave's forthcoming single 'How Was I To Know?' Redbrick Records are rush-releasing the single, 'How Was I To Know?' This was tipped by a Radio 2 insider to be the track that highlights the quality of Dave's latest album release 'Willing & Able.' The album was pre-released to considerable acclaim and interest from media insiders and is available from www.redbrickrecords.co.uk. Claudia's producer picked up on Dave's album and life story and was intrigued enough to invite him onto the show. The interview centred on Dave's lifelong urge to write, record and perform his original songs, and seeks to throw some light on what drives him to continue showcasing new material.
